We’ve noticed an increasing number of enquiries from people who are very nervous about visiting the dentist. These individuals often struggle to take the brave first step to contact us. So we thought we’d share our approach to give you some idea about the essence of what we do as a team to reassure and encourage you to conquer your anxiety.
Ollie & Darsh have a lot of time and patience for our clients. We pride ourselves and our team on being open, honest and 100% transparent with clear and effective communication. Our dentists and clinical support staff have managed to relieve many people of dental phobias over the years. We believe the key to helping nervous dental patients is to offer a friendly, relaxed atmosphere; a team who take the time to listen; and to provide gentle, unhurried care.
You can contact us in whatever way is easiest for you. Most often people get in touch via email as it is a familiar and informal platform to ask questions. Our Business Manager Suzy is usually the first to respond and reach out as a friendly voice. We will encourage you to call (or we can call you) so that we can take a few details and register you on our system. We’ll then make you an appointment and suggest getting you seen as quickly as possible, so that you don’t have to worry about it too far in advance.
When you arrive, Carol or Amanda will be the first friendly faces you see at the reception desk. These lovely ladies are very welcoming and will keep you amused whilst you wait. Both receptionists are very experienced when it comes to talking with nervous clients.
We have four highly qualified Dentists at the practice: Daz Singh (Ollie), Sudarsh Naidoo (Darsh), Chirag Patel (Chiggs) and Richard Brookshaw. Not only will they give you the best treatment, but as normal down to earth people, they are receptive to their patient’s needs. We will give you the time you need to gain trust in us, plus we always aim to find out exactly what you need from us to help you. For example, we respect that some of our nervous clients need a detailed account of what is happening and what their dentist is doing, whilst others want to simply put a pair of noise-cancelling headphones in, sit back and watch a movie, and wait for us to tell them it’s all done! It depends entirely on what you want. We will take the time to find that out.
Our Practice Nurses use a friendly, caring approach with all clients, and they are happy to chat with you if you need a distraction. Gaining the trust of nervous clients and helping them through their treatment journey is what we get the most satisfaction from.
